The Photography of Ryan Heffernan

Born and raised in Northern California as the son of accomplished still-life photographer Terry Heffernan, Ryan was immersed in the world of photography and design from an early age. A passion for photography took root during his college years in Maine and while studying abroad in Cuba, Spain, and Argentina. Ultimately this obsession for the medium took him in a direction all his own.

After college he landed in Santa Fe, New Mexico working with a diverse group of professional shooters at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops. It was an exciting and invaluable time that evolved into assisting opportunities with industry names like Jeff Riedel, Andy Anderson, Simon Puschmann, Norman Jean Roy, Arthur Meyerson, amongst others. These mentors played a key role in the beginnings of Heffernan’s professional career.

Today Heffernan is a travel and advertising photographer, based out of San Francisco, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico. He specializes in photographing people in their landscapes, capturing their lifestyle. Heffernan has worked for diverse clients such as Adobe Systems, Chase, Sesame Workshop, and New Mexico Tourism. He also contributes to Outside Magazine, GQ, Runners World, and works with award winning graphic design and advertising agencies including Studio Hinrichs, Diamond Merckens Hogan, Go Welsh, and Quigley Simpson. Recent awards include being featured in Communication Arts FRESH Profiles & Communication Arts 2011 Photography Annual, being one of PDN’s 30 Emerging Photographers of 2011, and Digital Photography Pro Magazine’s 2011 Pros of the Future.

When not on assignment you’ll find Heffernan on a trout stream or hiking in the mountains with a camera in tow.

The Photography of Bryce Pincham

New Zealand-born photographer Bryce Pincham developed an interest in photography while in high school. After graduating, he began assisting other photographers in Auckland to supplement his education and gain hands-on experience.

In his early twenties he moved to London to work with a higher caliber of photographers. Many of these worked around the globe, which afforded Bryce the opportunity to travel to some very exotic places. During his down time he would explore these fascinating places with his own camera. This is when he developed his love for beautiful and unique environments. He is always drawn to capturing landscapes in an interesting manner, making use of the amazing light and conditions that mother nature can provide.

Bryce now lives in New York and has been working as a freelance photographer for five years. During this time, he has been commissioned to shoot for clients such as Adobe, LL Bean, Phillips 66 and Swiss Rail. His greatest source of inspiration remains shooting landscapes and environments for his personal work.
