Brighter Days Ahead | Philanthropy Poster
Brighter Days Ahead was created to commemorate those affected by the Southern California Wildfires of 2007. It was donated to the So-Cal Fire Poster Project. It is being sold to benefit the victims affected by the fires.
The So-Cal Fire Poster Project sought limited edition sets of wildfire-related posters from high-profile and up-and-coming artists, designers, and firms from the United States and abroad. The donated posters were sold online, and all profits went directly to the Salvation Army, for the 2007 California Wildfire fund.
The destruction of the wildfires is portrayed by physically making, photographing and then compositing various textures such as burnt paper, water stains, ash and grit. These elements are juxtaposed with beautiful illustrations of life occurring all around them. The beauty lies in the fact that life carries on. Even the scorched tree shows signs of new life through it’s sprouting buds. The text sprinkled throughout the poster are facts regarding the wildfires.
Production Notes: This limited edition poster was printed four-color process, offset on Mohawk Superfine Softwhite Recycled Smooth 80 lb cover. The design is finished with an emboss to highlight the bird. Each print is individually signed and numbered by the artist, Greg Bennett. This edition is limited to 100 prints, signed and numbered. The finished size is 24 x 36 inches.
